Celebrating Families Assistant Group Facilitator
Description: ReMerge’s Celebrating Families program relies on volunteers to help with children’s group facilitating. The Celebrating Families!™ curriculum is an evidence based cognitive behavioral, support group model written for families in which one or both parents have a serious problem with alcohol or other drugs and in which there is a high risk for domestic violence, child abuse, or neglect.
A ReMerge staff will be present alongside the volunteers to assist with facilitating responsibilities. Facilitators are invited to join in the meal to become acquainted with the children and their mothers. After the meal, children are taken to a child-friendly environment classroom to go through curriculum while their mothers engage in the same curriculum but focused on recovery.
Frequency: Every Thursday from 5:15-8:15pm beginning May 10th – August 30th
Description: ReMerge participants who are currently pursuing their GED have a need for individual tutoring in the five different test sections: Social Studies, Science, Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. We especially need volunteers for the Mathematics and Science portions. You do not need to be certified to tutor but we ask that you have a good working knowledge of one or more of these areas.
Frequency: Times can vary between 9:30am-2:30pm, Monday – Thursday.
