“It’s a strange turn of events that the office that prosecuted me, actually hired me,” Jami said with a laugh. Jami works in administration at the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. The exact same office where, in 2012, she was being prosecuted for three felonies.
Sunnie Jamerson, August 2014 Graduate
Sunnie Jamerson is confidently pursuing her professional dreams. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is one year away from completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. To meet Sunnie today, you would never know that in 2011, she was facing multiple felony charges and up to seven years in prison.
Jakeria Gwyn, October 2024 Graduate
Mom to four young children, three boys, and one girl, Jakeria arrived at ReMerge in October 2021 facing drug trafficking charges and up to 7 years in prison. She had an open DHS case in relation to her charges with her children being placed in four separate foster homes.

Joy’s story is one of courage, resilience, and hope. For over 25 years, she fought a battle with addiction, facing choices that left painful marks on her life and the lives of those she loves most. One of her greatest regrets has been the toll her addiction took on her relationship with her children.
